ED 235 Organizational Relationships Week 3

You know the feeling you get the very first time the "warm" sunshine hits your face after a long winter hibernation? I think the feeling I am describing is hopeful. I am hopeful that summer is not too far off!

Speaking of not too far off. (lol). I encourage you all to keep working hard on your Director's Role Assignments. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to stay with me after class, email or call me. I want to commend you all on your demonstrated commitment and self discipline throughout the ELCD program. It is a busy time of year with practicums, classes and course work but it is so inspiring to see and hear how many of you are truly thankful for the opportunity that you have been given.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy Connecting!

Cukgake?

Welcome to Week 5 Curriculum Planning 2 eLearners! Please don't forget that you have a quiz this week! As well, Courtney Nicolson (Credenda's Practicum Advisor) will be our special guest speaker this week. She will be coming to class to answer any of your practicum questions and to review the practicum procedures and expectations. * Please Note Attendance is Mandatory*

So, as I mentioned last class Credenda has generously offered to double all donations/contributions made by Credenda eStaff and eStudents. My son and I decided that we would bake cupcakes and host a bake sale. My husband was "voluntold" that he would be selling the cupcakes at his office.

Yesterday, I loaded Tom up with the cupcakes. I also decided to make up a poster with the Credenda Haiti Initiative information on it. I am very excited to announce that the cupcakes were a complete success and SOLD OUT before 10am! In case you were wondering we sold 24 cupcakes for $2.00 each.

My little 2 year old was very excited to participate! He is still walking around saying "Mama ate cukgake....Mama ate 5 cukgakes .... Mama ate 6 cukgakes". I have to confess that I actually made 30 cupcakes but bought a couple for myself....all in the name of charity..lol!

Have a great week everybody!

Back At It

I love this idea....a Treadmill Desk...Genius!

So, a couple of months ago I inherited a treadmill from my parents. Actually, I am just storing it for them until they finish up their basement renovation. When they first asked me if I would like to use it for a couple of months I wanted to say NO Thanx. I knew darn well that everytime I went to sit on the couch and watch TV I would have to walk right by the thing.(Who wants to feel guilty for doing nothing when you have a 2 year old who is finally sleeping..lol) However, the treadmill arrived at my house in October and it has been a love hate relationship ever since. I love it when I am done my workout and I hate it when I am trying to convince myself to get on it!

Over the last couple of months I have been inspired by my fellow Credenda colleagues who religiously work a little "efit" time into their schedules. My New Years Resolution is to do the same and I will start tomorrow...lol. No No I will start today!

Before I go I should say "Welcome to Week 4" Keep working hard everybody and don't forget your Children's Literature Assignment is due this week.

Week 3

It is Week 3 and I am numb. So much going on in the world... so much pain... so much suffering. On Tuesday, January 12 2o1o Haiti was hit with an earthquake that registered a 7.0 on a scale which only goes up to 8. The earthquake lasted but a minute and the result was nothing short of catastrophic. Babies, Children, Parents, Friends, Loved Ones....Gone.

I watch the images on the news and I cry...silently and out loud. My baby boy runs to me and he puts his head on my lap and softly whispers... mama. (I cry even harder) I say a prayer for all those who are lost, suffering, helpless, scared and alone. Lord help them all... Please.

I know I always say that Credenda is the most wonderful place to work but I have never been more proud to belong to an Organization . Credenda has generously agreed to double or match all donations that are collected by staff members and eStudents. Please take a few minutes to check out the Credenda Haiti Initiative located on the homepage.

Next week (during class) we will be having some discussions on how the ELCC program can help.
