B&E And Birthday Party

Well, we had an interesting weekend. We were robbed and we celebrated my son's 2nd birthday! My husband says I make it sound so dramatic when I say "robbed"(lol) Our garage was "walked" into and my car door was opened...and ID stolen. Notice how I say "walked" into? That is because somebody (my husband..lol) forgot to lock the door. I have to say we were very fortunate because whoever decided to "walk" into our garage was only after ID? I find it very nerve racking to have just my ID stolen along with my car registration. You might ask how they stole all my ID? Good Question... I left my wallet in the side panel of my car door. Yes, it was not a proud moment when the police officer said "Ummm... I advise you against leaving your garage door unlocked when your wallet containing all your ID is in your unlocked car."

On a much brighter note, my son is almost 2! We had a few of his little munchkin friends over and I am still finding chocolate icing all over my house!

Oh, hey I just about forgot WELCOME TO WEEK 8! Exam 2 will take place this week. See you in class!

Week 7

It is about that time to start wrapping up Family Studies! It is a tremendous accomplishment to complete each and every course and I am proud of all of you. We have Exam 2 next week (December 14-17) and then Christmas Holidays! I have a BIG surprise for all of you in Week 8 but need your help to make it even better. If you could please email me a picture of yourself by the end of the week that would be great.

We picked out our Christmas tree this weekend. I think one of my favorite things is the smell of freshly cut Christmas trees! Picking out the tree was the easy part...getting it home and in the tree stand...ummm not so much. I am happy to say that the tree has only fell over once so far!

Tis the Season? Not just yet ELCD eLearners..lol. Week 5 is rolling around and we are just switching gears. Exam 1 is November 24-26 and if that isn't enough there is the Application Assignment threatening to burst our Holiday Bubble. Think your eInstructor is a Scrooge? Well, if you look at your Angel Calendar you will notice that I have tried my best to get things out of the way just prior to the official Christmas Kick Off. Exam 1will take place this upcoming week and the Application Assignment is due by December 4. That should give you a couple of weeks to deck the halls, jingle the bells and do whatever you need to do before Exam 2 which will take place the week of December 15-17, 2009.

Oh, by the way...take today off! Cheer for our Rough Riders...Go Green Go! Hey, did you know my son was named after a famous Saskatchewan Rough Rider? (NOT at all true, but my husband likes to tell everybody he is!) Happy Connecting.

Deck the Halls

Wow, we are heading into Week 4! Time is flying by in Family Studies. Christmas is around the corner and as always I am incredibly excited. I love Christmas and always have. I love the lights, the music, the decorating, the tree, the baking, wrapping, shopping...I love it all. We are very excited for this year. My son is turning two on December 22 and I can't wait to see Christmas through his eyes. We, ummm OK my husband put our new Christmas lights up last weekend. In all fairness, I gave him directions through the living room window...lol. This is the first Christmas in our new home and I was so excited to finally get to put up Christmas lights. I think they look great.

Am I really doing this?

Am I really starting a blog? Well, it appears so. This has not been an easy decision for me. I have gone back and forth on whether or not to start one for the last couple of months. I mean, how much more time can I possibly spend in front of the computer? Who would want to read what I had to say? (Seriously, I am not that interesting of a person..lol.)

Oh and I promised myself that I would not cave into the "everybody at work is starting one so I should too" pressure. Just to clarify I have not caved.

I have decided to start this blog for my students. Teaching in a virtual classroom, for me has major advantages. However, I often wondered about personal connection. As a student, connection was really really important. When I was connecting.... I was learning. So, this is for all my elearners. If this blog helps you connect with me as an instructor then a blogger I shall be.

So, lets start connecting. Not sure how many elearners knew this but I am a Mom. My son is almost two years old and his name is Luca. Very much a cliche but he makes me a better person.

Okay, so stay tuned. I will be posting little bits here and there about myself and what I am up to. Happy Connecting.
